My Favorite Uses for Coconut Oil

Coo Coo for Coconut Oil

Everyone is using coconut oil for everything so of course I had to jump on the bandwagon and see what this was all about! I have a few things that I really love using coconut oil for and I have found some favorite brands of coconut oil for my daily use! Enjoy!

Cooking

I use this oil for cooking purposes. I use it in baking recipes, sauteing veggies or even to make my eggs in the morning! Along with my eggs I like to have a piece of toast and instead of a big dollop of butter spread on my toast, I will use a little coconut oil! YUM!

Cup of Joe

So seriously, you have to try this one! I was your "a little coffee with your creamer" type of coffee drinker! I loved all that junk in my coffee, but I knew it wasn't good for me, but I didn't want to give up drinking my coffee when I want it. It has taken some time, but I have found a great alternative and yep, you guessed it.....coconut oil! Now you must make your cup of black coffee, put a drop or two of liquid stevia, and then about a half to a full tablespoon of coconut oil. Put it into a blender or individual blender cup and blend the heck out of it! It seriously pours out and looks like a latte from Starbucks and it tastes awesome! Please give this a try before you throw in the towel on a healthier coffee!

Make - Up Remover

Oh yes, sounds slimy and it is! Take a little scoop of coconut oil ( I keep a separate jar in my bathroom) in your finger tips, rub it all over your face and even on your eye lashes (gently). Take a few tissues or a wash cloth and wipe it all off! If anything, just do it for eye make up, but it makes a great moisturizer for your whole face! It smells yummy too! Wash your face as usual to get rest of oil off! Bam.... clean, smooth and smells good!

Vapor Rub/Muscle Rub

So I am not heavily into essential oils but there are a few that I love. I am not here to promote and brand, but I use DoTerra because that is the first person that talked me into it! I use a few drops of peppermint oil, mix it with my coconut oil and get my own home made vapor rub. This work great on my daughter's chest, back and feet when she has a little cold or cough! I do the same with another oil that I have that is specific mix for muscle relaxing. I rub that on sore muscles that I get from being old and working out! Plain and simple.

Diaper Cream

It works great as a diaper cream to prevent and clear up diaper rash. I am not a doctor, but it has worked for us!

Lotions/Moisturizers

The last reason is common and can be used in many ways.
  • Use as an all over body lotion for a natural SPF 4 sun protection.
  • Heal cracked elbows, knuckles, heals
  • Gently rub on cradle cap
  • Natural lip moisturizer
  • Mix with a nice smelling essential oil and use for a massage

There are many, many more ways to use coconut oil, but these are a few that I use regularly. Please feel free to share some of your favorite uses in the comment section!

Until Next Time.....
